I saw this unusual room plant recently in a flower shop, not because of the look, but the inscription that stood above it. It said, “Can this plant help us with snoring problems?”

That is related to snoring and speak the name of this type of pineapple. It is called plant for snoring and whose fruits are not edible. This plant produces oxygen at night as well as an enzyme which together helps with problems with snoring. Therefore, it is recommended keeping this plant next to the bed which is also required to close the air in the enclosed space.

The causes of snoring can be colds, swollen mucous membranes, enlarged extremities, septum deviations or swollen tongue. Long-term snoring can lead to serious health problems, even to cerebral and cardiac arrest.

How does it work?

Scientists claim there is an easy way to stop snoring, and there’s no device or surgery; it does not even cost much. NASA conducted a study that showed that the pineapple plant in the bedroom significantly reduced snoring and encouraged a good sleep.

The Bromelia plant, known as the pineapple, produces oxygen at night, and not during the day as most plants. This improves air quality, and therefore the quality of sleep. Bromelia also produces an enzyme bromelain that calms people’s snoring. Bromelia is cultivated mostly in the Netherlands. It takes about two years to see the first small pineapple on top of the plant.

You need to be careful because this is an extremely decorative plant and the pineapple is not edible. It can be seen by size (very small) and color (much darker than ordinary pineapple). In tropical conditions, Pineapple variegatus can grow up to two meters in height, and as a houseplant to 50 cm.
