Most of the fruits and vegetables we buy in stores are treated with pesticides. Some types of fruits and vegetables are more treated than others, especially if a seasonal fruit is treated with various preservative preservatives. A mix of vinegar and water for washing fruits and vegetables can be bought in the store, but you can make it yourself and save it in an empty bottle or dispenser tank.

Mix water and vinegar in a 3: 1 ratio. Spritz the fruits and vegetables and leave it for a few seconds to work. Then gently scrap and rinse with plain water.

Another option is to fill the bowl with water and add 1/8 to ½ cup of vinegar, depending on the size of the bowl. Dip the fruits and vegetables into solution and leave for 15 to 20 minutes. Then gently rub and rinse with cold water.

Which fruit and vegetables are most treated with pesticides?

Apples have been on top of the list of most contaminated foods for many years now, and now they have strawberries. According to the EWG (Environmental Working Group) list of 2016, strawberries are on top of the list of foods most treated with various pesticides.

Scientists have found that 98% of strawberry samples contain at least one pesticide, and one sample was treated with as many as 17 different chemicals. Manufacturers wanted strawberries on the market throughout the year, and pesticide application has also increased.

But strawberries are not the only one. There are 12 other foods treated with a large amount of pesticides, and they include: strawberries, apples, nectarines, peaches, celery, grapes, cherries, spinach, tomatoes, sweet peppers, cherry tomatoes and cucumbers.

Fortunately, there is also a list of foods that you should definitely add to your shopping list and consume them without fear. They include: avocado, corn sugar, pineapple, cabbage, peas (frozen), onions, asparagus, mangoes, papaya, kiwi, eggplant, melon, grapefruit and cauliflower.

The EWG has indicated in these lists that it is necessary to eat fruits and vegetables, but it is certainly necessary to limit the intake of pesticides. With the purchase of organic foods, we can avoid pesticides and feel safe.
