Alcohol dependence is a delicate topic. Alcoholism is a very widespread primarily due to the fact that alcohol is readily available and why not to drink a glass of beer on a hot day or a glass of wine in the evening with friends? The problem is that for some people alcohol brings pleasant moments, and for some years of tears and scandals. “If you cannot drink, do not drink.” – says folk wisdom. When do you need to think about it as a serious problem and stop?

Inexperienced drinking with the friends is an integral part of growing up in our culture. After the first hangover, many completely give up alcohol, many learn to be sipping a moderate, but unfortunately, there are people that enjoy this vice and is totally out of control. People who recognize the problem, before they develop full dependence, have the opportunity to reduce alcohol consumption and exclude the role that alcohol plays in their lives.

When the occasional glass of wine (or some other alcoholic beverage) yarn in the required dosage that you have to get, it is clear that you have fallen into the clutches of addiction to alcohol. Therefore, you better to get out of them and pull out on time.

Loss of control due to alcoholism is the earliest and most important feature of addiction. Most people are indifferent to alcohol. For example, if some person is invited to a wedding or fame, drank 2-3 cups, gets a little drunk, cheered up, then switched to juice or sparkling water and peaceful, on its own, moved on with their job. Under a different scenario is evolving situation in people prone to alcohol. He or she drank it, liked it, drank more, and more and the next morning feels bad and ashamed.
Losing measure and control over the degree of intoxication, the patient is increasingly faced with the following symptoms:

Changes in behavior due to alcohol dependence

Drunk human is a completely different person. With time, the character of drinking changed. Appears irritability, discontent, striving to prove fellows that they are wrong, conflict with them. The person more often speaks about in a drunken state what when it’s sober would not have occurred to him. At this stage, often a person gets behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol and crashed the car. And over a certain time appear memory lapses.

Forming the need for alcohol.

Regardless of the obvious negative consequences on request of the family to stop with alcohol, a person creates the need to increasingly feel the pleasant effect of alcohol. A desire is formed, psychological need for alcohol. In Russia, there is a saying: “If there is a desire, there will be a reason.” And, indeed, is no longer necessary for a celebration to drink, friends are less important, the atmosphere, the place where a person drinks. Appear excuses like: “I’m stressed, no one understands me, I am irritated, etc.”. Of course, the problem is inside the patient, the disease, inability to control. Similar excuses are a mechanism of psychological protection, an attempt to shift blame to nearby. Alcoholism is a disease and therefore must be treated.

Changes in personality

The change of personality under the influence alcohol, like any psychoactive substance, changes the person. If earlier people had plans, appreciate family, career, reputation, engaged in sports, with time it all seems so stupid and unnecessary. The capital in the system of values is beginning to acquire the alcohol. Therefore, begins social degradation – loss of family, work, social position. Debauchery becomes the main goal in life alcoholics.

Forming a physical dependence on alcohol

Physical dependence alcohol. Is widely known that when a person takes large amounts of alcohol, the next day, while sobering, feeling a series of unpleasant symptoms: a nervous, feeling of inner trembling, tremor, palpitations, nausea, dizziness, sweating. This is called a hangover. With time, these symptoms become more intense and begin harder to bear the hangover, it begins to look for a tool that would help cope with abstinence and starts to drink more alcohol at for some time the person feels better. So comes to a regular use of alcohol, when a person needed wine, beer or vodka just to feel “normal” and to avoid a painful hangover. Sometimes person in the morning can swears that will not drink, but already in a few hours will again run for alcohol. Abstinence syndrome is very difficult and dangerous.

The consequences of chronic alcoholism

It is the so-called third stage of alcohol addiction. When that moment comes, changes in the body become irreversible. Due to the disturbed metabolism, nutrition, toxic effect of alcohol changes the appearance of patients – skin, face, appears tremor, changing movements, memory loss, higher nervous activity, decomposition of personalities, dementia. The internal organs – liver, blood vessels, heart were also destroyed and sick days are sadly numbered.

Certainly, the treatment of alcoholism can stop this tragic process, but the problem is that for a long time, addict refuses treatment because it does not consider itself sick.

To such a person to satisfy their addiction, will use all means. He will manipulate with everyone in different ways just to be able to continue to drink.
